Glenna Clarke Obituary

Glenna Clarke, 77 of Arlington, TX passed away at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center on Friday, August 26, 2022.

Glenna was born on September 2, 1944 in Huntington, West Virginia and was daughter of the late Ruth McAlister Rood and Wallace Rood. Glenna retired from Arlington Independent School District. Glenna especially loved the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Pressley and collected many souvenirs to share with others when she could. She enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas with her late husband, Richard. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her faithful dog, Darby. Glenna also enjoyed talking and telling stories. In addition to her parents, Glenna was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ruth Ann and 2 brothers, Jerry and Wallace Rood. Glenna is survived by her Son, Robert (Joannie) of Arlington, TX, Daughters, Tammy (Steve) Johnson of SC and Monica (Wayne) Graham of GA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a very special niece, Teresa Lacy and a number of nieces and nephews.

Per Glenna’s wishes, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection at 2400 SE Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76018 or on the web at texasforthem.org.
