Elisabeth Gonzales Obituary

Gonzales, Elisabeth Enderlein age 90, of Irving, Texas, passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Elisabeth was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on May 28, 1930. There, she and her sister, Brigette, spent much of their childhood and adolescence growing up during World War II. In 1947, she met her husband, Concepcion, who was stationed in Germany as a member of the United States Air Force, and in 1948, they married and moved to the United States. Together, they had five children and were married for more than 65 years. Elisabeth faced many hardships throughout her life, especially while growing up in war-time Germany; however, through her deep Catholic faith and fierce strength, she overcame and persevered through any challenge. She loved singing and regularly celebrated her Catholic faith through song, having been a long-time member of the choir and a parishioner of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving. Above all, she was a caregiver who loved, supported, worried for, and looked after so many beyond just her family. She is “Mimi” to many, and her strength, resilience, loving spirit and warm heart will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Concepcion Gonzales; son, Andrew Gonzales; and grandson, Jeffrey Gonzales. She is survived by four children Frank Gonzales and wife, Tammy, of Arkansas; Rosemarie René and husband, Oscar, of Irving; Henry Gonzales and wife, Sandra, of Irving; and Michael Gonzales and wife, Nancy, of Irving, as well as nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A rosary will be held on Friday, July 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, and funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church. The family request in lieu of flowers for memorials to be made to Holy Family Catholic Church-Capital Campaign Attn: Carol – 2330 Cheyenne St., Irving, TX  75062
