Eldon "Butch" Baker

August 31, 1944 ~ December 24, 2021 (age 77)

Eldon “Butch” Baker, 77 of Granbury, TX passed away unexpectedly but peacefully while surrounded by his family December 24, 2021.

“Butch”, was born on August 31, 1944, to the late Guy Baker and Louise (Reiman) Baker in Hastings, Nebraska.  He was the oldest of 3 siblings, brother William (Bill) and sister Sheila.

Butch graduated from Bladen High School in 1962.  Upon graduation, he enlisted into the US Navy and spent the next 3 years serving the country he loved.  He was honorably discharged in August 1965.

He met the love of his life Cheryl Boehmer in California.  They were united in marriage on July 16, 1966 at St Martin Catholic Church in Sunnyvale, California and were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Lanette and Shawna.

Butch had a successful career with General Tire and retired after 32 years. After 6 months of retirement, Butch decided to go back to work for his and Cheryl’s sanity.  10 years later Butch fully retired and they enjoyed traveling and seeing their family, friends, and the country.  After several years of travel, they decided to settle in Texas.

Butch was a family man and enjoyed watching grandkids grow, spending time with his family, fishing, and teaching his son in laws how to do home improvements.  Butch never met a stranger he didn’t like.  He could talk to anyone and made everyone feel welcome.  He left a positive impression on everyone through humor, kindness and love.  He had many nieces and nephews who will always remember the endless teasing from their Uncle Butch. Butch was the best husband, Dad, father-in-law, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, and friend anyone could ask for. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, daughters Lanette (Kevin) and Shawna (Bob), grandchildren Amanda (Josh), Ashley, Alexia, Andrew, Alyssa, great grandchild Stetson, brother Bill (Donna), sister Sheila (Steve) many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
