Donald Ernest Drysdale Obituary

Donald (Don) Ernest Drysdale, 75, of Haltom City, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024 after a courageous battle with ALS. Don was born on September 3, 1948 in Fort Worth, TX to Glenn and Edna Drysdale. Don served in the US Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany. He had many great memories of his time there and made lifelong friends. After being honorably discharged, he worked for most of his life in the construction business. In his later years, Don constructed beautiful cabinetry and specialty items. Don served on the board of several churches and enjoyed working in the sound booth for more than 40 years. He also remodeled many churches and would refuse to take payment for these jobs as he enjoyed serving the Lord with his incredible talent. He took great pride in his work, and it showed in everything he put his hand to.
Don is survived by his wife of 22 years, Shirley Drysdale, his daughters, Tara Drysdale and Amy Smith and husband, Jason, stepsons, Chad Virdell and wife, Sandra and Chase Moyes, his sisters, Shirley Turner and Glenda Drysdale, grandchildren, Nathan Drysdale and wife, Mia, Landon Smith, Sawyer Smith, Sarina Virdell and Payten Virdell, and great granddaughter, Lillie Drysdale, and many nieces and nephews.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Edna Drysdale.
