Dirk Fulton Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of David Dirk Fulton on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Keller, Texas, at the age of 46.
Born on September 18, 1979, in Waco, Texas, Dirk was raised in Paris, Texas, before making his home in Keller with his beloved family. He was the cherished son of David and Linda Fulton and the beloved brother of Rene Fulton.
Dirk was a devoted husband to Rachel Gibbs Fulton, whom he married on March 25, 2006, in Waxahachie, Texas. Together they built a life centered around love and family. Above all else, Dirk loved his family. He was an incredibly loving father to Benjamin and Katherine, who were the center of his world. He was deeply proud of his children and found his greatest joy in being their dad — sharing movie nights with his Katie Bug, teaching Ben how to fix things and use his tools properly, and simply spending time with them. The bond he shared with his children will forever remain the heart of his legacy.
Dirk was a gentle soul who brought warmth and comfort to the people lucky enough to know him. Whether through a helping hand or a meal prepared with love, he had a genuine way of sharing his kindness and sincerity.
He found happiness in the outdoors and felt most at peace surrounded by nature. He loved fishing, boating, golfing, snow skiing, and water skiing — anything that allowed him to enjoy nature and time with family and friends. But no place held his heart quite like Red River, New Mexico. The family cabin there was more than a favorite destination; it was a place where memories were made, games were played, singing contests were held (though he never won), and some of his happiest moments were spent with his wife, children, parents, his sister, and his aunts Billie and Ruth.
Dirk also had a passion for cooking, and feeding people was one of the many ways he showed his love. He loved to search for new recipes, cook alongside his father, and gather family and friends around the table. Those moments — full of conversation, laughter, and connection — are memories that will be treasured forever.
His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his love, gentle spirit, and the memories he created with those he loved will remain forever in our hearts.
Dirk was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Carol Phillips, and William and Wana Fulton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Fulton; son, Benjamin Fulton; daughter, Katherine Fulton; his parents, David and Linda Fulton of Paris, Texas; sister, Rene Fulton of Taylor, Texas; aunts, Billie Phillips and Ruth Stovall of McKinney, Texas; mother‑in‑law, Terry Gibbs of North Richland Hills; brother‑in‑law and sister‑in‑law, Brian and April Adams of Keller, Texas; nephew, Will Adams; niece, Emma Adams; along with many other beloved family members and special friends whose lives were forever touched by his love.
A celebration of Dirk’s life will be held in September, with further arrangements forthcoming.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Jordan Elizabeth Foundation
The family also asks that those who knew and loved Dirk honor his memory by spending time with the people they love, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, sharing a meal together, and choosing kindness whenever possible — all the things that meant so much to him.
