Dale Lee Otterman of Hurst, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on October 9, 2023.
He was born July 11, 1955 in Yuma, AZ to Demoyne and Joyce Otterman.
His family moved to Hurst when Dale was in the 4th grade and he graduated from L.D. Bell High School.
From a very young age Dale loved to take things apart and put them back together to figure out how things worked. After high school, he went to apprentice school which led to a lifetime career in HVAC. Dale had a strong work ethic, and the bigger the HVAC system, the more he loved his work. Dale retired from Carrier in 2018, and only then because of a required disability.
He had a loyal customer following for 30+ years because of his loyalty and expertise.
Dale loved life; he worked hard and he played hard. He had many interests and hobbies: watersports, car racing, photography, radio controlled cars, computers, and skeet shooting.
He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He loved children and they loved him, and he especially loved his neighbors and grandchildren.
Dale met the love of his life, Vicky Simpson in 1993, and they were married September 26, 1997. Vicky says she found someone who completely adored her and was her Prince Charming. He was a devoted and loyal husband.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his Wife, Vicky Otterman, and his beloved dog, Harley; Sister, Paula Otterman and Nephew, Joel Otterman; Son, Brice (Misty) Pritchett; Grandsons, Braden and Jacob Pritchett and their mother Michelle Pritchett; Granddaughter, Blake (Zane) Holland; Great Granddaughter, Berkley Holland; Nephew, Heath Wilson; Niece, Tonoa (David) Whisel; Great Niece and Nephew, Madison and David Whisel Jr. Numerous friends, coworkers, and devoted neighbors.
