Creston Kendrick, 94, of Hurst Texas passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2024. Cress was born on October 7th 1930, to Kenneth and Aura Burge Kendrick in Doyline, LA. He was the oldest of three boys and their mother passed when Cress was 6yrs old. He was later raised by his Aunt Fannie and Uncle Jim Metcalf until graduation. He started work with American Airlines at 15 and retired from the Airline 47 yrs later. He was drafted by the Army but joined the Air Force during the Korean war. He reenlisted with the Air Force reserves and served in several other conflicts while working for American during those times. Cress retired as Chief Master Sergeant in 1990 with over 37 yrs of service.
Cress met his wife Daphine Damron in Ft. Worth as neighbors carpooling to Meachum Field where he worked for American Airlines and Daphine was a stewardess for Central Airlines. They married in 1960 and later moved to Hurst Tx in 1969 and remained there raising three girls. Cress and Daphine stayed in their home until 2015 at age 85 and moved to Sr apartments closer to daughters with assisted care until passing.
Creston is preceded in death by his wife of 60yrs Myrtie Daphine Kendrick, daughter Cynthia Sue Swindall, brothers Arnold L. Kendrick and Roger D. Kendrick.
Survivors include daughters Kimberly Kendrick in Roanoke, TX. Kristi and Henry Scott in N. Richland Hills, TX. His grandsons Randy Swindall, Ryan Scott and Kyle Scott. His brother Bob Kendrick in Shreveport, LA. He also has several nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.
