Coy B Moon Obituary

Coy B. Moon, the 8th of 9 children of Ollie O. and Abbie Mae Moon, was born on February 25, 1926 in Blue Ridge, Texas. After graduating from Blue Ridge High School, he entered the U.S. Army where he served in occupied Japan until 1946.
After the army, Coy knew he wanted to go to college, so he decided to get a barber's license that would enable him to work while he went to North Texas State University. He graduated with a BBA in Industrial Management in 1950. In August of that year, Coy married the love of his life, Billie Jean Owens.
In May of 1951, Coy accepted a job at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls as a civilian instructor. Two years later, a job became available at the new General Motors plant in Arlington. Coy accepted this job and worked there until his retirement in 1979 at the age of 53. In his own words, General Motors Corp. was the world's finest employer.
Coy accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior on August 4, 1955, at Second Baptist Church in Arlington, and he was ordained as a deacon there in 1959. He and Billie Jean joined First Baptist Church Euless on the first Sunday of 1962, beginning many years of service to the Lord through that church, its ministries and its people.
Coy and Billie traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states and 9 foreign countries, including several mission trips with FBCE. Coy was a devoted servant of the Lord, and his life was a testimony to Him and a blessing to all who knew him.
Coy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Billie Jean.
A celebration of life will be held on September 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Cross City Church in Euless. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Cross City Church.
