In Loving Memory of Courtney Elizabeth Smallidge February 6, 1992 - February 13, 2026

The world became a little less bright on February 13, 2026, when Courtney Elizabeth Smallidge passed away at the age of 34. A quintessential free spirit, Courtney was a woman whose soul was as bright as her intellect and as loving as her heart.

Born on February 6, 1992, Courtney was known for her infectious ability to make others laugh. Her wit and radiant personality could light up any room. Yet, beneath her joyful exterior lay a deep, contemplative artist. Poetry was Courtney's true calling and her vital outlet; she poured her passion into every line she wrote. Her poems were profound reflections of her inner world-full of heart, raw truth, and the weight of what she carried inside. Through her words, she invited those she loved to see the depth of her soul.

Courtney was never more at peace than when she was surrounded by her family at the lake house or enjoying time with her many friends. She lived for the simple joys of life--whether it was taking the stage for karaoke, lining up a shot at the pool table, or simply being present with those she cared for. Above all, Courtney was a devoted wife and mother.

She leaves behind a family who adored her and a legacy that will be carried forward by her husband, Matthew Nymeyer, and her beautiful daughter, Gemma, who was the light of her life. Courtney is survived by her mother, Mary Custer; her stepfather, Matthew Grossweiler; and her father, Michael Smallidge. She remains the cherished sister of Joshua Custer, Robert Frazier, Matthew Grossweiler, Jacob Smallidge, and Emma Smallidge.

She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Paul, and her uncle, Sam.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Courtney's life on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, located at 8525 Mid Cities BLVD, North Richland Hills, TX 76182. In honor of Courtney's love for storytelling and connection, the family encourages all who attend to bring a written memory to share, as we gather to remember the unique light she brought to all our lives.
