Charles Larry Jones Born August 27, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Charles Herbert and Frances Allene Jones. Larry as people knew him, graduated from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas and went on to attend Ranger Junior College followed by the University of Texas at Arlington. He enjoyed working with wood and spent his career working in the lumber and building industry. The majority of his career was spent with the Hurst Lumber Company working in commercial door sales. Larry later worked at Henson’s Lumber in Granbury, Texas and finished his career in Management at the Home Depot. Larry was passionate about sports and spent many years coaching not only his two sons through their Pee-Wee sports years, but also countless others as he was active in Little League Baseball and Football. In his later years, Larry enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys on television and talking with his son Scotty during the games. Larry loved family and spent time following family genealogy, searching for relatives and tracking family lineages. He is survived by his cousin Brenda Jones of Arlington, three children Jennifer Ann Davis of Arizona, Scotty Lee Jones of Hurst, and Randy Stephen Jones of Burleson. He had 5 Grandchildren Terra, Trisha, Blake, Britney, Allyssa and Andrew as well as 7 Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Kimber Ann, Penelope, Catalina, Christopher, Kevin Junior and Wyatt. Larry was well loved by many other friends and family who have reached out and shown their love and support to the family. He loved them all. In lieu of a service, a reception for friends and family will be held at a later date.
