Cecil Horace Bolling Obituary

Cecil Horace Bolling of Colleyville, Texas, passed away in Grapevine, Texas on Thursday, January 8th, 2026.


Cecil was born to Jessy Horace Bolling and May Daffern on August 1st, 1937, in Fort Worth, Texas.


Cecil grew up attending elementary school in Smithfield, Texas and high school in Keller, Texas. His commitment to serving others was evident early on as he joined the United States Army at the age of 17, where he proudly served his country.


Following his military service, Cecil established a successful career as the owner of C.H. Bolling Masonry Contractor, carrying on a decades long family tradition. Before his retirement, he worked as a sub contractor for Claffey Pools, where he was recognized for his work ethic and expertise. Cecil was a man of Baptist faith.


An avid outdoorsman, Cecil enjoyed camping and 4-wheeling in the mountains. He had a passion for working on his classic car and loved tinkering with anything mechanical. These hobbies provided him with great joy and a way to connect with friends and family.


Cecil is survived by his spouse, Sammie Spakes Bolling; daughter, Tammy Layne Bolling; son, William Cecil Don Bolling and spouse Hollie Shirey Bolling; brothers, Kenneth Bolling and spouse Debra Bolling; sister, Mayanell Bolling; grandchildren, Brandy Crowe, Shawna Crowe, and Jacob Bolling; great-grandchild, Kelsa Rose Levitt; and close friends, Gary and Barbara Jenkins, and Christine Loven, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessy Horace Bolling and May LaRose Daffern; son, Horace Wayne Bolling; daughter, Debra Jo Bolling; brothers, Jack Williams, Clyde Rolfe Bolling, Louis Odell Bolling, Loyd Glen Bolling, John H. Bolling, and Victor Rodrick Bolling; and sisters, Jessie Lee Porter and Edith Eleanor Hightower.


Cecil was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather who left a lasting impact on his family and community. His life will be celebrated and remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his contributions to his community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
