Cathy Chambers Lazier, 73, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend passed away on April 22, 2021.
Born and raised in El Paso Texas, Cathy was a graduate of Irvin High School. She attended The University of Texas El Paso and was a member of the Chi Omega Fraternal Society. Cathy built a dynamic and successful life’s work in healthcare, starting with Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, then Providence Memorial in El Paso, and ultimately with Texas Health, in Bedford Texas. She was a Director of Materials Management for many North Texas hospitals. Her hard work and compassion for people served her well. Her work was always about the people and putting the needs of others first. Cathy always felt blessed and gave credit to those she worked with and for, many of whom she fondly referred to as ‘punkin’.
She both enjoyed and excelled in her career and cherished the many friendships that she made in her professional life. Of greatest importance was her family. She was steadfast and faithful in support and love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. “Lita” was the title she was most proud of and always was happiest spending time with her family. She fiercely loved her grandchildren’s sports teams and The Dallas Cowboys. Cathy was our family historian, tracing our genealogy back through 9 generations. She treasured learning about those who came before us and shared that love through stories and by authoring a book of our family history. “We are the testament to all who came before us and I believe our ancestors would feel that they achieved the success they so desired by examining the close family connections we continue today. This is the legacy we inherited and we are left to pass this on to our children.” -Cathy Chambers Lazier Cathy was the eldest of 4 children of the late Joel and Mary Emily Chambers of El Paso.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Debbie Good and Julie Rae.
Cathy is survived by her daughter Laura Lazier, son Randy Lazier (Wendi), daughter Lisa Daniels (Chip), six precious grandchildren Alissa Lazier, Greyson, Lauren, and Cade Daniels, Sophia and Luke Lazier, and two great-grandsons Dane and Leo Lazier. Cathy is survived by a brother Scott Chambers, Nieces and nephews Joel, Emily, William and Ella Chambers, Julie Good (Troy), Tyler and Jordan Parks-Good, Kyle Good (Alison). Her abiding and unfailing love for her family and friends will leave a lasting legacy and many wonderful and cherished memories.
