Bobby Don Nichols passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023. Bobby was born on October 24, 1941, in Midland, Texas to Leon and Opal Nichols. He moved to Dallas around the age of 11. Bobby married the love of his life, Dorothy Lynette Butler, on January 20, 1961, in Dallas. They moved to Euless in 1965, lived and raised a family there for over 42 years, then moved to Bedford in 2008. Bobby loved Dorothy with all his heart and made it his number one goal in life to make sure she was taken care of and had all she needed. Bobby and Dorothy have two children, Danee’ and Scott. His priority was always with his family and he poured his heart into them as a loving Husband, Dad, and Bobboo. Bobby worked hard throughout his life providing for his family. Working construction early in his life, then he made a career in composite structures at Vought Aircraft. He retired from Vought in 2006. Beyond his family, Bobby had a few hobbies he was passionate about. He loved classic cars and it wouldn’t take long after meeting him for him to let you know that the favorite car he ever owned was a beloved ‘57 Chevy. Bobby was also an avid gun enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time at the gun range with his son and often his granddaughters, sharing his passion with them. Bobby cherished the opportunities to be with his two children, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Bobby was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Euless (currently Cross City Church) for many years. Bobby and Dorothy loved being members of Dr. Bell’s Sunday School class. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Opal and brother Jerry. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy; daughter Danee’ and son-in-law Eric Owens; son Scott Nichols and daughter-in-law Kim Denney; grandchildren; Katie and her husband Michael Squires, Grayson and his wife Lexi Owens, Nicole Nichols and Shelby Nichols; greatgrandchildren; Collin Boutwell, Rosalie and DeLaney Owens, Ryan Squires, and Tucker Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for visitation at Cross City Church First Euless on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The Funeral service will be also be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Cross City Church First Euless. Interment will conclude at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
