Betty Whisman, 90, passed away on September 23,2021 in Grapevine, Texas.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lela Hurley, brother Clyde Hurley and an infant sister.
Survivors include her sons, Kyle Whisman and wife, Jamie of North Richland Hills, Texas and Court Whisman and husband, Steven Kaplan of Newtown, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren, Adam Whisman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Carlie Whisman of Austin, Texas.
Betty was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 1, 1931 and until the age of 36 lived in that area. Betty moved to Houston, Texas in 1967 and resided in Houston for 53 years. Betty was a real estate agent for over 44 years and was principally associated with Coldwell Banker offices throughout her career. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and is now at peace with Jesus. She was a member of the Encourager Church for over 25 years and was active as a children’s church teacher and in the choir. Betty was a very talented piano player, with an amazing ability to play by ear. She touched many lives through her music. She was a fan of all Houston sports, especially the Houston Astros, cheering and watching every game.

Services are private and the family requests that to honor Betty donations in her name can be made to the charity of choice.
