We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Forest Ridge Funeral Home
Anne Renee Boyd was born June 30, 1976 in Irving, Texas and, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, she passed away on August 2, 2022 at her parents’ home surrounded by family.
Anne spent nearly her entire life in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. She graduated from Irving Nimitz High School in1994. She attended Tarrant County College and the University of Texas at Arlington, earning dual Master’s degrees in psychology and social work. Anne lived an active lifestyle, remaining an athlete all of her life; she especially loved playing soccer. She enjoyed the outdoors and annual trips to the Texas Gulf Coast with family.
Anne was known for her smile, quick wit sense of humor. Those that knew Anne best knew her to be selfless in so many ways, and protective of those she loved. She was passionate about helping the less fortunate, performing numerous charity work for the Union Gospel Mission and Presbyterian Mission in Fort Worth. Anne often commented that if she won the lottery, she would start her own homeless shelter. She was a champion for Christmas Providers, ensuring families in need were able to enjoy the Holiday. Anne was a woman of faith, never faltering in her belief in the love of God. She will be remembered as a family woman at heart, so it is fitting and a great blessing that she left this life peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Anne is survived by her son, Cody Smith of Bedford; her parents, John and Kim Wood of Bedford, brothers Michael (Cathy) and Mathew (Michelle), all of Bedford; long term boyfriend Jordan Kaul; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In addition to her relatives, Anne leaves behind a large number of friends that she loved dearly.
