Aleta Wood

Aleta Wood was born November 25, 1943, in Richton, Mississippi.  She passed from this world to heaven on Friday, February 11, 2022, at the age of 78, in Fort Worth, Texas.  
Aleta always put family first.  She often recalled fond memories of time spent with her parents and relatives and of outings and vacations with her husband and son.  In her later years she recalled the joy of taking all 3 of her grandchildren to their school, picking them up, and at times going out with them to grab something to eat; enjoying the special time with each one.
One memory Aleta would recall was about growing up as a pastor’s daughter, how often they had to move.  When she married her husband, Joe, she was looking forward to settling down in one place and putting those days of moving behind her.  Little did she realize at the time is she would end up moving as often in her married life as she did growing up.  Nevertheless, she never resented this as she was always with her loving husband and son.
Aleta is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Joe Wood; her father, John E Dement, mother, Lanelle Dement, and daughter, Jennifer Wood.  She is survived by her son, Michael Wood, and daughter-in-law, Tracy;  grandson, Joshua Wood, his wife Courtney; grandson, Mark Wood, his wife Monica; granddaughter, Mikayla Wood; great-granddaughter Eliana, her Aunt Evonne and her Uncle Norman as well as numerous cousins.

Chapel service at Forest Ridge Funeral Home  for family and close friends on February 22, 2022 at 2 PM.
